All kinds of ignition/firing problems, so it went in and was diagnosed as slipped cambelt. Belt changed, re-timed, and it felt like it was running well, also had new plugs, leads and dizzy cap.
Filled it up, and did 223 miles on M-way/dual carriageway, with hardly any stop-start, keeping up, but never over 80, and mostly 65 ish, and at fill up time I had to put in 38 litres. That gives me 26.6 mpg
. I'd expected 33+ on that kind of work, maybe 36.
It's a 1.4 ieS. I've just looked at the plugs - the rims are sooty, but the tip has not sooted up. Any ideas?
