Cambelt broke - Need best help without toolkit

Cambelt broke - Need best help without toolkit on 182B6

Hi all. I was about to swap my wife's Multipla 1.6's 16v(182B6 engin) cambelt, but it broke on a few kilo's short of 120k.... It was 6 years old though...I was totally unaware of the 5 year rule... Is there anybody who worked out an acurate way to align the cams yet? That is without the special toolkit...??? Please, I'm in South Africa and there are no one that hires these around here...Taking it to the agents will cost too much:yuck:

you can get the tools shipped over.
but that is the least of your problems, head will need to come off and checked for damage and that damage repaired

As said. There's absolutely no reliable way of doing these engines without the proper kit.
