As Beast said the went into liquidation....nothing to do with Fiat so cant blame them:confused:

Might be a inconvience to you to travel extra 20mile but more of a inconvience to those who lost jobs with families/mortgages etc. With some luck they might be brought over as a ongoing concern but saying that Fiat are not the most profitable franchise and with constant slating from the public who would want to take that risk!

Sorry guys got a bit upset . Didnt mean to involve FIAT themselves ,because i know they have nothing to do with the dealer network. And sorry to any people at caledonia that may have lost there jobs over this . I believe they had a few garages with citroen and fiat :

Fiat are involving themselves more actively in dealerships,to what extent remains to be seen.Hopefully people involved will be placed in other garages or kept on if taken over.Is there no other Fiat garages near you?

78 members of staff have been made redundant & our thoughts are with them. I am a member of staff & my views/opinions are NOT on behalf of what was formerly Caledonia Motor Group.

A total of 4 Caledonia dealership have been taken over by the Cambria Automobile Group which has a dealer group turnover of some £250 million.

The four Fiat delerships are: Preston, Warrington, Blackburn & Oldham

Any orders placed via these 4 dealerships that have been processed with Fiat will mean that any vehicles ordered will be transported as normal to the relevant site - including the 500

Brand new vehicles cannot be transported at the moment simply because the 4 dealerships need to be set up with new Fiat dealer codes and sales/service/parts accounts etc; and the new group is currently in the process of purchasing used stock currently on the 4 forecourts

Confirmation of the takeover will be given to employees this afternoon (Friday 18th Jan) and it is hoped that outstanding orders for any vehicles currently on site will start to be delivered to customers as early as Wednesday 23rd Jan

Hope this helps if you're looking to book in for service etc or to purchase & wish to know who is open & who isn't :)

I went past the Manchester dealership today and it is empty, save for the odd few cars parked outside,I feel for the staff who ,due to no fault of their own ,are now redundant and hope they find suitable employment soon, john

Yep called in yesterday (thurs 14th) and spoke to one of the sales reps.Same set up,same people even same phone number, just a new name.
