Well, this is the end (possibly only for the present, see what cars the FIAT future holds) of over 20 years continuous FIAT group ownership, including Lancias and Abarth and over 30 years intermittently since my little X1/9. I've passed on my Qubo now after 4 years of (mostly good) ownership. For over a decade it has been expedient for me to use this class of car- Doblo, then Bipper, then Qubo. The latter has not worn well- the silvery centre seat cover shows marks very easily,as do the door trims, and the black cloth isn't much better. The dash is a pig to keep looking good, particularly over the speedo etc binnacle which always looks dusty, the option 68r port is in the wrong place. The seats are a bit too narrow with awkward piping that digs into the flesh. The tailgate is always filthy. The rear seats don't fold unless you move the fronts too far forward, and my first attempt to convert them without pushing the fronts forward had slightly damaged some of the seat cloth, a hard way to learn! I found it had eaten the inside edges of yet another set of front tyres, whilst the original rears were (just) still legal at 41300 miles. The dreaded front knocking began a couple of thou miles ago, I guess I was lucky getting to 40k. But i decided to p/x it to let a dealer have the headaches of putting it right, and as I no longer need the carrying capacity of the Qubo having moved back to UK i decided I needed a few more luxuries and a bit more oomph and now have a Jag. To those who helped me out along the way, my thanks. I may miss some things about the Qubo, but on balance I feel the Bipper was a bit better all round.....
