Anyone had buttons stick in before, if so how do you solve it.

Im guessing im gonna have to get a new plastic surround :(

I cant press rear view heater or air circulation unless I press on the plastic extremely hard (not easy when driving)

I dont think this would do anything as its not like its stuck.

When the button is pressed its not like it wants to pop back i.e. if I force the plastic surround to sit flush, the button works as normal, but then the surround comes forward again and deems the buttons useless.

It's the crappy clips holding the heater panel fascia to the actual unit! Mine went after a day of a new stereo in, ordered a replacement, lasted a week so was rather miffd!! Any ideas how to DIY clips onto it, cant glue because the force trying to push the fascia off the unit is too much for even super glue i would imagine! (n)

aha I have no idea sorry, but I dont see why they should seize up!

haha i dont either but was just a thought lol

@tjetface: thats why mine broke when fitting a new stereo. The thing is, my new stereo fascia is nearly impossible to remove without breaking and therefore fitting a new surround would be difficult without requiring another fascia again.

I really need to get round to doing something about it

I know, i just took my stereo out and got my hands on either side of the fascia and just pulled! Felt like itd jst snap but it didn't! Couldn't get the same heater panel aswell had to get the one with air con, which my car doesnt have so had the problem of just the air con button sticking in! Just stook a couple of pennys wrapped in sticky tape to push it out! :bang: Il have a bash at trying to get something to get that panel to sit flush, theres got to be a way. Il try superglue and go from there!

let me know how you get on! Could really do with the buttons working with winter creeping up

I had this happen to me aswell. Mine was something to do with the plastic clips on the top edge of the fascia, they had snapped because of the added weight from my new head unit. I ended up needing a new fascia, but I didn't bother sorting it before I got rid of the car. I tried good glue but it wasn't strong enough to keep it in place.

Bit of a pain having to take both hands off the wheel to demist the window isn't it?
