You will get nothing from Santa Adam! Chicks have fledged and gone, now I can get on with wiring the garage. My heat shield rattle is fixed. There was a vertical split at the bottom of the shield and a horizontal split about 100mm up on the left, When the vertical split met up with the horizontal split, the relevant piece fell off and the rattle stopped. There doesnt appear to be anything directly in danger of being burnt so I have left it for the time being.

I am not particularly concerned with the Blackbird deposits on the car and I now have a second nest and chicks. I am terrified of the seagulls in Berwick Upon Tweed though. Not so much the consequences of being covered when driving top down, but more of the thought of a few hundred people witnessing the event.

As for the B, I bought it in May last year with new rear discs/pads. These are now very rusty and 'graunchy' but still effective. Is this a common problem when the car is laid up most of the time and only used occasionally? Are there discs which are less prone to rusting - the front ones are clean? I don't plan on doing anything at the moment but will probably have to change them eventually.

We have had three consecutive days of sunshine - hosepipe ban imminent!

Drive safely

Steve

glad to see birds doing well, i have a flock of starling moved into my garden, to make freinds with all the sparrows.
as for brakes yp leaving them stand will let rust build up. easy fix drive it every day. the weather not that bad there you know !!!

i will be back up there next month so wait for it to pour.

I did this a while back and yes, in my opinion don't even try without some form of rewind tool. I have the one from Halfords and it works fine.

It's important to make sure the dust seals haven't stuck to the pistons before you start turning them though, otherwise they can tear. Use a tiny flat blade screwdriver or similar to tease the seal away from the piston slightly. You don't need to remove it, just break any seal that may have formed.
You could even pop a drop of brake fluid in the lip as a lube if you wished.

Following Nicholasb 's recommendation, I have had a cat back stainless exhaust system fitted by Tints n Tweaks, Ashington, Northumberland. The service was excellent and Pete, the technician, was a perfectionist in his efforts to build a 'one into two' manifold to reproduce the original twin tailpipe look. I was even given a coffee while I waited. The system is slightly louder but quieter than I imagined it would be. I took the shots with my mobile so apologise for the quality. Six hours and £329 which I consider a bargain.

Looking forward to Edinburgh on Sunday.

Steve

Looking good Steve , have you noticed any difference in the behavior of the Bee being 15kilos lighter and a much better unrestricted airflow, you should compliment with a pipercross air filter replacement as i done.
looking forward to seeing you and your Bee on sunday.(y)

Looks great Steve!

I would say that the quality is equal to the powerflow exhaust I had fitted.

Glad you got it a bit cheaper!

Another change to the Bumble fleet. Now as my boys have bought their own cars, I realised I no longer needed to share the Focus so I blew some of their inheritance :D Some better pics of the recently fitted Longlife SS exhaust. Both cars put away as I'm off to Sorrento tomorrow for some sunshine before school begins. Cinc :Din
