TBh not touching it sticking with my ever faithful ntl (omg did i say that)

I've looked at a few providers and bulldog was one of them, looked great till you read the small type....

Its

£1 to connect
£60 for a new line if ya dont have one
Pay only £8 p/m for 6 months then £15.50 there on

Now this is the bit i dont like

Get 8 hours free per month and then £1.50!!! for each hour after that now if your an average person and spend about 2 hours online a day probably 3 at weekends thats ...

16 p/w - 832 p/year /12 = 69.33 hours a month - 8 hours free = 61.33 hours to pay

now if you look at the charge that means you'll pay £92 extra a month :O

Now another thing is that speed they say all depends on the server your connecting too all well and good having 8mb but if the server can only download at 3mb then you're limited to that :(

Like i said i'll stick with my 700kbs NTL but probably in a year or so al upgrade when the internet server standards upgrade to meet these 'am bigger than you' so called speeds :)

But i could be proved wrong :p

8 hours free per month

This machine is connected 24/7, lol......and needs to keep connected to run an America's Army server.

Ah, I see you can buy unlimited time for £29.50 - presume this is what you have, Alfie :D

this shoudl of been in my last one but NTL will be upgrading you to 2mb

At that price it can't be unlimited - the service just can't be sustainable.

8mbps is like 80GB potential downstream in a day. For £30/month? NO WAY.

Freedom2Surf Connect 8Mbit Package

From £14.99 per month.
Up to 8Mbit speed depending on distance from the exchange and line quality.
From 2 to 100GB traffic allowance (not metered during off-peak times from 1am to 6am) Package includes 20 email addresses with anti-spam and virus protection
200Mb of webspace
1 month minimum contract
Free installation for annual contracts, £79.99 fee for modem and installation (or £49.99 for installation) for monthly contracts.

I can't see how in the long run this would viable at all. It just doesn't add up.

If it works for you, great, but I for sure could not deal with unmetered only during the early morning hours.

mines the inter@ctive one where theres no ristrictions... im just trying it for a month to see what its like. it is free the first month after all :D rude not to lol

ts86, the idea with unmetered then is that you use for normal surfing during the day then any large downloads (say Americas Army) you stick it into a download manager and tell it to start at 1am, it works for many since the product has been selling for over 6 months.

Sadly we're stuck on the NTL 300kbps product until they either lift the cap on the 1MB package (which is a free update from the 300kbps) or my parents finally take the plunge away from cable though lots of nightmare stories exist.

8Mbit/s.....christ thats obscene!

Weve been running on Bulldog 1MBit/s for about a year (were upgrading to 2MBit or 4MBit if available when the contract expires), and its very reliable!

ok... so its been installed since yesterday... the phone hasnt worked since... we can dial out but noone can phone in :( i have phoned them, emailed them and nothing... ive read on other forums that people have been in the same state as me for weeks on end :( not looking good. i have been hung up on 3 times. i just wanna cancel the whole thing now.. severely stressed!! 700/ksec just isnt worth it... anyone know a good solicitor!?

btw if anyone has any advice on how i can cancel with them forcefully let me know... if i phone BT and ask to be reconected would that work?
