I have a leather-wrapped steering wheel on my GP and it's starting to make ripples/bubbles were I normally rest my hands. My car is still in warranty (only 10 months old) but I don't know if that's included in the warranty or not.

So I was wondering if there's anyway to fix it without having to replace the whole steering wheel, like some leather treatment or something similar.

mine did same and i got mine replaced after my warranty expired, i just called fiat uk, they offered to pay for steering wheel & gearknob, and i paid £50 for fitting, if yours is only 10months old it should be under warranty

Well, I'm in Egypt and the local Fiat dealer/service center sucks. I'm pretty sure they will keep arguing that the steering wheel should not be replaced. I'll try anyway.

Thanks for you reply :)

I had the same problem and the steering wheel was replaced under warranty, but this one went the same way and the car was no longer in warranty, so i replaced it myself, and now it's third steering wheel has gone the same way.

So, i give up now and can longer be bothered!

In the UK is definately covered under manufacturers warranty.

Good luck

Wow…3 steering wheels to bubble, that’s pretty bad luck.

Do you use anything on your wheel to keep them clean?

My car is 4 years old, and the wheel is perfect. I use Autoglym Leather conditioner every so often on the wheel.

The coating on my wheel is peeling off quite badly in the 2 oclock position....it started bubbling off about a week ago, and its spreading....shockingly bad leather in my opinion....

No mate, i don't use any cleaning products on the leather.

Strangely enough it's always on the right hand side.

Maybe i could make one good steering wheel out of two by cutting them both in half then gluing the good pieces together :D
