I wondered if anyone has had to have new breaks pads and disks and how much it cost them. I bought my fiat 500 lounge about 4months ago from a glynn hopkin garage so the car is still under warranty and a few weeks ago it started making a loud noise when i breaked so i took it back to the garage i bought it from and they said i need new front break pads and breaks and they quotes me £340 and said it didnt come under warranty because its wear and tear so i took it to a different garage and thet quoted me £130 but i was told by somebody i know that you cant put cheaper breaks pads on the fiat 500 as they dont fit properly they have to be genuine fiat pads and thats why they quoted me so much. Has anybody else had this problem

See my guide and links under it if its a 1.2 and I assume others are the same the calipers are prone to sticking... Ask the garage (the cheap one how much it would be to fit if you got the parts ( look on www.shop4parts.co.UK ) members who have been kind to > donate < to our running costs get access to members offers where you will find our unique 10% discount code IIRC the front solid discs on the 1.2 are only £10 each

I did discs and pads on my 500 TA for £57 fitted myself.
Discs are Brembo and pads are Ferodo.
Both very good quality.
