My 1996 1.6 Bravo is not firing up. I was lying for a week in temperatures as low as minus 10. The car turns over but will not fire up. After cranking it there is a strong smell of fuel. I then bought new spark plugs and put them in. I also sprayed wd40 on the ht leads. It still would not start so I checked the plugs for a spark and there was one present. Anyone any ideas what to try next?

It would be unusual for all 4 ht leads to fail. I did use wd 40 on them and will do acmulti meter check with them tomorrow but I dont think that were the prob be as there is still a spark on the plugs.

you said you checked the plugs for a spark and there was only 1 present?? to which makes me think 3 are not fully working,As you said you bought new plugs so cant be them.

but saying that you also said after cranking it over to try start it,.you may have flooded it?

Take all 4 plugs out again and wipe them clean (maybe clean anyway) but also wipe the inside of the ht lead so its dry and makes contact as you said you sprayed wd40 on them.

I will give it a try tomorrow. Cheers. So if all 4 spark plugs are working and I do insulation resistance and continuity checks on the ht leads and there is still sparks what else can I check? I have checked the fuel inertia switch too.
