Well i must admit i have had mine for the past year now and i am getting a little bored and tired of my Bravo as it just seems to be slowly falling apart!!

I makes noises on the inside and outside and I am now looking to find a better quality and built car..

So i am off to look at a new Renault Megane Coupe (very
Nice 2 ) Dont get me wrong i love the Bravo but would NEVER buy one again

Renault ! Aaaaaaaaaagh

Sorry m8, but if you think that the build qulaity on your Fiat is bad, do not, I said DO NOT go anywhere near anything French. They make British Leyland cars appear to be built to Rolls Royce standards.

Re: Renault ! Aaaaaaaaaagh

Totally agree: I've only ever had a bad time with Renaults.

They're also bloody expensive to fix when they go wrong.

The Megane coupe has a reputation for leaking like a seive, too.

Renault! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh

Definatley expect to pay more to keep your Renault going. My wife (Girlfreind at the time) bought a brand new basic Renault 5 at the same time as I bought a second hand Fiat Tipo 16v Sedicivalvole.

Her 1.4 Renault Campus cost more than 1.5 times as much to keep on the road over the three years she had it than my Tipo did! Whilst not unreliable, parts and servicing costs made this difference. Its only redeeming feature was better fuel economy than the Tipo - not surprising really.

laguna

2 years ago my dad bought a brand new laguna, at its first service he realised the front left brake had been stuck on constantly, so whilst the right pads were fine, the left ones had worn down totally. Plus he needed a new heater matrix after a few months.

Re: laguna

Is Steve short for Stephanie?

Its just that I always thought Renaults were birds cars. Especially the Megane which seems to be driven either by women or blokes with tight trousers, limp wrists + bouffant/mullet hairdos.

Cheers

Gay??

I personally thought this forum was for CONTRUCTIVE IDEAS not for meaningless comments
1. The names Steve not Stephanie
2. The car is for the WIFE
3. I do drive a Laguna and so far pretty good
4. Be constructive as this is what the forum should be used for @Hugh

Fair Enough

Fair comment Steve, but coming on the prima Bravo Message board and shouting the praises of a Renault ? It's like going to a ManU game in a City shirt... :)

Just kidding, sorry to hear you've been dissapointed with your Bravo, each to their own as they say....

I know someone with a Megane, expensive to fix, but he's overall impressed with it even if it does add 20 years to his age (it's the saloon version -- eeuuughh!)

Get a good Renault dealer and you'll be OK (Bit like Fiat there - Oh, no cause Fiat don't have any good dealers)... LOL!

Re: Fair Enough

Sorry Steve,

I may have been a tad harsh, but maybe you could find some willing ears on one of the Renault forums. I'm sure there are plenty of nice mincing men on there who walk around as if they're squeezing a 50p piece between their buttcheeks.

Enjoy the Megane - what color were you thinking of getting the car in; duck egg blue or light pink?

Hugs and Kisses

Re: Re: Fair Enough

Ooh put your handbags away girls. Huw likes his fiat/Steve likes the megane coupe (Which i dont think looks too bad, but then i like Toyota MR2) Who gives a f*ck

Happy Hairdressing(oops) er driving steve.

saying

that the FIAT Bravo was once voted the most deseriable
car amongst young GAY men - I think we should
all be quiet !

Renault drivers

Obviously, a sense of humour bypass is a pre-requisite to owning a 'Renno'!!!

i previously owned a megane

Before buying my HGT i had a megane 1.6 8v.
I had to sell it due to increasing repeated problems with the on board electronics/computer side of things. Having spoken to a mechanic that i knew that had a chap spend 2500 on having the whole car re-wired and still not sorting a no-starting problem out. I spent 500 then gave up, iv heard this before about meganes so be carefull, theres to many sensores in the engine apparently. They are sturdy though but not nearly as exciting as my fiat, and iv found my women magnetism has now doubled since buying my bravo-probably the leather, lol

good luck

nick

p.s any one got a spare rosso red bonnet lying around that they wanno get shot off?

Re: i previously owned a megane

Nick I've just had a new bonnet made up so My old one is for sale. Bare in Mind that when I come to sell my bravo in 2 years time I may have to put the old standard bonnet back on to sell it and sell the new one off seperately.

Post if interested

Re: Gay??

Ok some constructive stuff for you bud.

Love the shape and stlying of the car very nice to look at indeed. I can't imagine there would be a big difference in buid quality though. How much you thinking of paying? what year etc

As far as performace go's I had an interesting little race on ther motorway last month with a megane. Upto about 80 it was fairly similar at about 80 I did a 5 sec boost of nitrous (whick is quite a long boost) and left it standing and I do mean standing. My bud next to me was in hysterics as he said the guy in the megane had serious grimace on his face! he was a couple of years older that me so was obviously a bit miffed! hehehe vert amusing stuff

yeah im interested

Hi,
Yeah im well interested in your bonnet, few questions-is it rosso red and what kind of condition is it in? How much do you think you would want for it, and where in the world do you live? many thanks cheers mate,

nick

p.s-are you saying that when you renew your car you might want the standard bonnet back? cheers
