I've recently bought a 2001 (Y reg) Bravo JTD. Is there a Workshop manual for this model, as I'm sure I read somewhere that the Haynes Bravo manaul doesn't cover diesels?

Also the car's badged as a JTD GT, but the log book has it as a JTD 100HLX. Anything to be worried about?

Not sure who can help with the Manual (except perhaps a friendly FIAT dealer) but the GT is the euro version of the HLX as far as i know.

The Haynes manual will cover anything that is standard accross the models so basically won't cover the engine and fuel system. Possibly won't cover suspension etc either so it depends what you want to do.

The Lindsay Porter manual covers the JTD. £9.99 from Halfords.

I have a CD manual that will cover the JTD engine.

Its free with a 155bhp tune ;)

How much would that be?

Must admit a bit disappointed performance wise, certainly gets no-where near the specified levels: 0-60 quoted as approx 10.6s (on mine, more like eventually), Top speed quoted as approx. 120mph (on mine 100mph foot to floor, down hill with tail wind). Starting to think that I may have a problem, although there's no dashboard warning lights. Any history of air mass meter probs, or similar, on Bravo JTDs, if so would a Fiat ECU diagnostic pick it up? The car's very low mileage (8,500) for the year, so I reset the ECU hoping it would kick things into life but no obvious improvement. Any ideas?

Once I've got baseline performance out of it, I can then decide whether I need more ooomph.

Mine was how yours sounds to be. Nige came up and tuned it, (not the boy racer map, one more suited to hills, e.g. very torquey) and I've not stopped smiling since.:)

JGL where did you buy your JTD from, and how much you pay?

Really thinking about getting one having hear what an ECU remap can do to performance!

£5k from an independent dealer near Sutton. Took a few months of hunting till I found the one I wanted.

Go for it!

I've just got hold of an HLX JTd in metallic black.........looks smart. The performance is a bit lack lustre, economy is excellent though. I guess a remap would increase the urgency it goes about things. It has 50,000 on the clock, but the engine is pretty smooth as it had one previous professional lady owner who looked after it.
