I am wondering if anybody knows what i can do to reduce the juddering @ low revs that my bravo is so intent on doing.??

Give more details and we may be able to help.

age, milage, last serviced etc..

1.8 correct?

Any warning lights coming on?

Is it doing the hokey cokey? ;)

Engine size, Age, Mileage, recent repair/maintenance work, unusual running charachteristics?

Yea, its the 1.8. Its '96 and has done 105k - m/way miles. It was serviced less than a month ago and the engine is in really good condition. I have previously been told that its a Fiat trait and it isnt ridiculously bad but obviously preffered without.... Any ideas, or is it just a case of putting up with it??? Cheers Matt

when does it judder, what does it do when it judders, when were the plugs last changed etc..

Details

It happens when your travelling slowly, say crusing in 4th doing 30mph - well just under 30 say and it will begin to really struggle and judder (yet my last car was a golf GTI (1.8 mk3) obviously a similar engine and it was fine just obviously very slow accelerating)

Re: Details

I cudnt tell you from the top of my head - i'll get better details of what its doing next time i go out and get back to you. Thanks for your help and time tho.

Also though i was wondering if you could give me some advice again as im no mechanic (obvious by now). I am thinking about getting a ecotek valve and pipercross induction kit on there because apparently they will give greatly improved throttle response and reduce 'flat spots'. Firstly, how effective will they be? Secondly will they make the engine ridiculously loud on the m/way at high revs? Cheers

Re: Details

Ecotek does naff all, trust me!

A pipercross will make it louder, if you want to keep it quiet get a panel filter or something like the BMC CDA or Pipercross viper.

The inlet system on the bravos isn't that bad really.

Ive got a HLX and it will quite happily 30 30mph in 4th and 40mph in 5th, it does begin to judder if you go any slower but that just means.......you need to change gear.lol :)

I wouldn't go below 30 in 4th gear in any car and try to accelerate without changing down again first.

Yeah, it probably is getting used to it - had it a week. But its never juddered like this in any other car - just loss of acceleration. Its also a pain in the arse crawling in trafic as ur constantly going between 1st and 2nd

My 1.8 never juddered in 5th gear doing 30mph, it'd even slowly pull up a hill aswell.

My JTD however hates doing 30mph in 5th must be 4th to stop the judder.

Could you not reset the ecu and drive in the gears you want at low spoeeds so it learns to keep the revs a bit higher?
Just a thought
