Technical bravo engine light

hello there fiat forum i recently brought a 2009 bravo 1.4 dynamic with 51000 miles on the clock so when driving the car there is a very bad smell of oil and petrol coming threw the air vents then the car seems to try splutter like its ran out of petrol then the engine light comes on i tried turning the engine off then re starting it engine light goes off
it keeps spluttering and the whole cabin is shaken aswell any ideas what could be wrong with it

well the bravo has gone back to fiat Ireland turned out one of the cylinders had no compression also the car had this work done before so fiat are going to change the engine block thankfully still under warrenty job done
