First of all, let me apologise in advance if i seem a little (or a lot) stupid.

I own a V reg 1.2 Bravo 80SX and I want to install my spangly 2nd hand CD changer (The grundg one). I have looked all round the boot and can not find the changer cable. Aha! I thought someone mush have removed it at some point, lets have a look under the passenger footwell and see what's there... nothing remotely changer-cable-like. hmm ?
So back to the boot i went, and checked again, and yup, nothing there left, right, up or down.

So i thought I'd try looking behind the radio itself, so off i went to try and remove the radio. I tried and tried and failed. How do you get it out ??? I looked on bravo-guide.co.uk at the guide there, and i tried it out but no luck. Can anyone shed any light on this for me ?
I've had a quick look around at other posts but am still a bit clueless.

You need the special tool to remove the Radio unit.
It is 2 metal U that you need to drag it off ;)
You can find it in car accessories shops

Hope i helped..

If you have an 80 SX you have one of the post 99 facelifted cars - there is no cable in the car with them - you have to supply your own.
Regards head-unit removal if your really tight you can lever it out with some 'thin flat objects'.
IMO the BEST place to fit the CD changer is under the rear bench seat. Lift the rear bench seat up and you will discover you can smuggle all sorts through customs under there LoL. What you need to find is the letter box shape 'cut-out' in the metal (it's on the driver side towards the middle). Once you cut through the carpet to create an open letter box you can position the changer behind the opening.

Thanks for the reply's guys.
I have not fully installed it yet, but i now have a long wire running out from under my dash into the passenger footwell, and i put the changer under the rear seats and it fits perfectly. :D

I managed to get the radio out in the end and plug my own cable in... an hour and a half of trying mind.
I found that you had to lift up a clip on either side at the bottom. The blunt edge of a hacksaw blade did the trick in the end.

Have you got the changer wire running through the footwell? There is ample space under the plastic sills to run the cables back alongside the rear screen squirter pipe. There is even a little arch in the plastic to pass the cables under.

Yes I saw that when I was threading the cable through the dash (if it’s the same thing I’m thinking of) When I was putting it in I ran out of time so I have left it for the moment.
The wire is completely in the footwell at the moment, it doesn't even get to the changer yet. A task for the weekend me thinks.
