Bravo 1.8 hlx idle problem.

The idle speed of my Bravo is fluctuating slightly when at rest. This results in an intermitent vibration from the engine and a slight misfire sound from the exhaust. Does anyone know whats wrong? And if they do how much is it likely to cost to put right?

Although none of you grumpy people were kind enough to reply to my message I managed to work out what the problem was myself. Apparently because I have a naughty habit of running my petrol sooooooooo low, this can cause the idle speed of the car to fluctuate a little. I solved the problem by topping up my car untill I covered my jeans and shoes in petrol! and then took it for a blast on my local back roads (Scotland has enough of them!) Da da !!!! Problem solved and it has been spot on for a whole day now.

Sticking Valves

Mines does this. It is one of the signs of a sticky valve. Try an engine oil flush?
