Technical Brava Front wipers

Hello all

I have a Brava with dodgy front wipers.

They will now only operate on the fastest setting and do not return once they have been switched off. Instead they just stop in mid screen or wherever they are when you turn them off.

I was going to replace the motor but thought I would seek someone elses opinion first.

The relay on the back of the wiper motor would be the best thing to check first.

The lack of parking is a lack of power to the parking switch. Wiper motors need a switched supply and a permanent live.

I had that same problem, turn them off and the wipers would just stop dead..... I changed the whole wiper setup (motor, linkage etc) because i have a good few to play with What causes that is water getting in somewhere and its affecting the motor itself. Check over all the plastic trim around the wipers and look for leaks. That should prevent that happening again

Mine were doing this before when I bought the car.

Apparantly it happens when you attempt to wipe snow off the windscreen.

Bought new stalks which did nothing so i have a spare set lol.

New wiper motor solved my problem.

I tried salvaging the old one but it looked like it was leaking grease over the electrics.

It is likely to be a relay/motor problem, but do check that you have the permanent live before diving in.
