General Brava Diesel Lack Of Power - Help!!!

Hi - i recently went on a dual carriage way and put my foot down (as ya do) and my car lost all oooomf. it chucked out black smoke and would not budge over 10mph. it eventually lost all power, people have said i put the wrong fuel in but i know for a fact i have not, are there any other suggestions please - oh also it sailed thru the m o t even with this problem. Thanks!

Its the maf sensor or as its called airflow meter.

it turned out to be the exhaust gas recirculation valve - the car (before i bought it) had been hit from behind and the exhaust was also bent. thanks

EGR valve is a very common problem, you should clean it regularly (at every service)
