Hi,
the carpet behind the passenger seat is saturated.

I assume there is a drainage hole blocked, but where excactly are these located?

I have seen the section on the site for un-blocking the drainage hole but I can't figure out from the picture just where the holes are or how to get at them?

If it isn't the drainage holes, any other ideas? Remember, it is in the footwell behind the passenger seat and not in front of the passenger seat.

Thanks,
Sue.

Anyone any thoughts on this? The car stinks like bad egg sometimes!

Thanks,
sue.

Do you have a sunroof ???
And the dranage holes are left and right just where the plastic under the windscreen ends under the bonet.

I do have a sunroof, yes, although I can see no water trail from it.

The problem manifests itself in the footwell behind the passenger seat but I guess it could be running from anywhere.

Thanks,
Sue.

drainage

i hadsame problem, lift ur bonnet under wndscreen youll see along plastic panel, get something plastic like a cable tie and push up an down it will be blocked with leaves an grass an such like

I have cleaned out the drainage holes but the problem is still there.

There are no visible signs of where the water is coming in and it the wet patch is behind the passenger seat, not in front.

Anyone any other ideas?

Thanks,
Sue.

Water water everywhere

Check the condition of the door seals, and look for a gert big hole in the floor next I think.....

Still can't find where the water is coming in.

I think I need to take the carpet up and try and figure out from there where the water is coming from.

Can someone point me where to start with this as I don't want to tear it/make a mess of it?

Thanks,
Sue.

Hi,
I have now traced the problem to the sunroof.

At the front corners of the sunroof, just above the drainage hole, there is a little cut-out in the plastic trim. It is the same on both sides and looks deliberate. I think that when there is a heavy downpour, the water is overflowing over the top of this cut-out. Is this possible? Will I cause more problems by filling this cut-out with sealant (assuming I can get in to do so)?

Is there something else I should do instead?

Regards,
Sue.

Hi,
anyone have any more ideas please?

I took it to the garage and they have 'filled' this gap (and only on 1 side), which I'm not sure is the correct thing to do.

They have charged me £141 and it still leaks!

Regards,
Sue.

have you tried being in the car while someone else goes over it with a hose pipe, u might find out then where the water is comin from. my dad had a problem on his merc and it turned out to be the the overspill pipe that runs along the petrol pipe,(its that water can run down from the outside of the car to the ground underneath, it was blocked) although it has nothin to do with the petrol itself.
And on a rover i once had it was leakin in from the back, i never found out where it came from but i rekon it could have been the seal around that boot lid, dont buy a new one yet have a good look round it first, but like i said get someone to hose the car while you are inside it might give you an idea where it might be and spend a few mins around the sunroof area
