Brava 1.2 Central Locking Problems

Hi, my wife has a Brava 1.2 W reg and the central locking keeps playing up, one minute it works fine all 4 doors open and lock, next nothing works only the door you've got the key in. I've checked the fuses, no problem there, we even put the car into a fiat dealer to solve and they said it was the fuse.
How can a fuse cause an intermittant problem, anyway it still isn't working right.
Any ideas would be helpful.

It could be the relay. Behind the glove box is a yellow relay. As a cheapish start point it may be worth replacing this (its only £70 from fiat for a Remote central locking version so a non remote should be a lot cheaper).
Might be worth also ensuring that the mechanisms are free from fouling and are lubricated.

my centrel locking was playing up, locking then unlocking by it's self, i removed the fuse overnight & it has'nt happened since. touch wood(putting hand on head).
