Here she is! Just got a brand new 500x Sport to match my wife's red 500. I know there should be better reasons to buy a car, but hey ho.

I have a question though... the fuel guage seems to go down (and up) in 'chunks'. Twice I have put petrol in and the guage shows exactly 3/4 full. I drive for a bit with no movement on the guage, then I'll start it up again and it's dropped by 1/8. Drive around a bit more, guage stays the same and next time I start up it's dropped another 1/8 (so down to half full). Is that how it's supposed to work? I suspect not - never had a car do that before.

Its progress. Panda also ahs a digital gauge that drops in bars. I suppose with the computers showing trange its not necessary to have an analogue gauge. Not that those were more accurate in reality... I have had a variety of cars over the years which did similar. Always irritated me seeing it drop a chunk overnight. I thus suspect its normal.. You will have to watch it for a while and see if iyts at least consistent and only then will you know unless soemone else with the same model says different.

Thanks Panda nut. Yes, I'll keep an eye on it. I'll have to keep the range visible (I don't by default, but I think I can customise the display to show that). It's a new car, so I can always go back to the dealership with the question...

Hi apologies reply is not directly related to your post, my wife has a 500x Sport 2023 plate not noticed the issue with the fuel gauge. I’ve just posted a question regarding the rear parking sensors we are convinced it had the audible proximity alarm when reversing which has stopped working the dealer has said it doesn’t have sensors. Does yours have the reverse proximity beeping? Many thanks.

Hi Anthony. No, mine has no parking sensors - just the rear view camera. I was a little surprised that a brand new car wouldn't have sensors, but hey ho.
I was also very surprised that the clutch needed replacing after less than 1000 miles. It was burning on even the slightest incline. The dealership said the bite point was very high.
It seems better since the new clutch, but not 100% (and I had never once burnt a clutch before this car)

Bloody hell I must be getting old !! not only do i remember when cars only had a gearstick and rear view mirror! but i look back at those times with fondness !!:p everythings to blinking complicated now! all these "features" we cant do without! no surprise the driverless cars just round the corner is it!👎
I don't disagree with you Steve. In the good old days we had to use the senses we were born with 🙂

I have sensors on mine, front and back, and there are beeps, but only when I'm close to something. It doesn't keep beeping externally just because I'm reversing like a truck does however, it's only internal.
There's a button to switch the sound for the parking sensor off, it's the button with the letter P down low on the centre console to the right. Make sure that isn't switched.

Yeah, I think a lot of editions of the 500x do (or did) have sensors but mine definitely doesn't (and a quick look at the rear bumper confirms they aren't there) and there is no P button anywhere.

Mine does this.

It doesn't make the truck-style audible beeps outside the car... it's completely silent unless I start getting close to something (or some cock passes too close to my car) and then it beeps intermittently, which then progressively more rapid until I get a continual note.

The sound is only audible inside the car.

The "P" button on the lower console disables the sensors, rather than muting the sound.. although technically the end-result is the same.
