Brake pads

My new car only on 55 miles made a couple of squeeks today, only 2 though when pulling away sounded like the brakes.

Looked at pads they both look a bit weird, they're not flat they touch the disc near the middle of the disc and then bend out about 5mm. This is only what I can see through wheel. Exactly the same both sides. Is this what I should see? Also discs very hot to touch

I've looked at my pads again, I thought pads were generally flat. Mine when you down on them go up like at an angle until flat. Hard to describe, but aren't all pads just flat?

your pads are designed to have shamfered edges prevents the edge of the pads from clogging up / disks do get very hot (do not touch) your pads have a metal content and shall be noisey due to slight corrosion in damp mornings /when dry helps braking efficiency
