On my Bravo 2007 I have a problem with the fuse for the breaking light keeps blowing out when I hit the break pedal.

I have exchange the switch connected to the pedal, but no luck.

I've noticed that the are 2 circuits going to the break switch. Does anyone have a electrical wiring diagram for the brakes on the Bravo? When I disconnect the breaking lights, the problem still occurs. My feeling says that it could be the control circuit for the breaking lights.

If it happens each and every time you press the brake then it's a short to ground.
Go to the rear brakes and check to see if your 12v + has a direct path to ground.
Here is the wiring diagram:

The brake switch has a double circuit so the ECU/body computer can know if the switch has gone bad/ out of adjustment.

Yes, I guess it's a short circuit to the ground. Some times it is working OK for while, and then on the second push on the pedal it blow the fuse. Since F37 is blowing (and I assume the switch is OK) the failure could be the output from B002: third brake light or the output to the body computer (and left and right brake light).

What do you mean with rear brakes? Brake lights?

Thanks.

yes, that's what i meant. rear brake lights.

if it's only intermittent then it's more probably a wire touching to ground

Try disconnecting both rear light clusters and hit the brakes and see if the fuse still pops, will confirm if a wiring issue or not.

Sorry but that will not confirm anything.
You would still have power on the +12V wire that leads to the brakes...the one i suspect actually shorts on the body of the car.

Sorry but that will not confirm anything.

Yes it will, it'll confirm if the short is within the light cluster unit (a faulty bulb perhaps, or damaged wiring track, its not impossible) or if its in the wiring up to the light clusters.

Always start with the basics and easy to check things. No point ripping the wiring loom out to check if that potentially isn't the issue.
