Hello,

When driving i'm getting a bearing like noise from the driver side wheel, i've jacked up the car taken the wheel off and when i spin the disc by hand it seems to stick at a certain point, is this a warped disc ? or stuck caliper, i'd presume if the latter it would be stuck on and not allow any movement.

any advice.

thanks.

Could be one of 2 things.

First is a warped brake disc

Second is the disc is not running "true" which is caused by debris being present between the wheel bearing hub, and the brake disc.

Take the disc off and clean the hub surface as well as the inside mounting surface of the disc and refit. This should hopefully fix the problem. If not, then the disc is warped and needs replacing.

I greased up the pin, regreased the back of the brake pads, checked the brake piston was free moving, still it was sticking so i used compressed air and sprayed the back of the disc without taking it off and hey presto sorted, i'm amazed.

thanks for the advice.

I still have the issue, upon further investigation i found that the inner brake pad seems to stick and is not free moving in the caliper like the pad is not a good fit ? i've tried cleaning the pad and the caliper itself but still the same issue, is there any harm in grinding the ends of the pad down so that it fits in easier ?

thanks.

No harm in doing this, however, you need to do this very lightly and refit. repeat until it moves freely, but not able to rattle.
