Can anyone think of a reason why you would only change 4 of the brake pipes when the Stilo has 6? 2 front and 4 rear.
You can buy kits of 2 or 4 hoses for the rear and just wondered why?

Can anyone recommend any other manufacturers?
Ta.

I used Julian at balance and I was the first to get them from him he bought stock hoses at his expense and used them to get the braided ones made up..he supplied 4 to me and said I didnt need the 6..so I went with that recomendation..and all was fine with my car..big improvement I will say that..(y) you can get a 5% discount through me and fs-oc..if you want it..

Edit.. he uses this company by the way you might be able to go direct..

My guess is that the chavs who fit braided hoses only fit the caliper ones. They can show them off to their mates through wheel spokes.

Even Essex chav boy racers wouldn't tell their mates to get down on the road, shuv yer ed unda me motor ta see me braids.... Not in their white Levi's anyway.

:ROFLMAO: mine were red covered and when they get covered in dirt you can see them anyway..:nerner: :p

I've orderd mine from Balance. I got all six. We'll let you know what difference they make once fitted. Bought them mainly to reduce sponginess and pedal travel.

got mine from them, but the ends have rusted :(

Thanx for the tip. Will slap on the waxoyl as soon as fitted.

Incidentally, to return to the OP, as the whole point of reinforced hoses is to shorten pedal travel by cuttting out the 'slack in the system' in the form of the standard hoses swelling under braking, why on earth would you only change four and not all six..?

exactly, that's why I couldn't understand that they had an option???

I take it you're not keen on them then?

No.... I don't have a problem with them, I just prefer to keep everything standard.

I did think about getting them once, but it was only because someone on here posted about an online insurance company that had a glitch in the proposal form. If you ticked a box that you had braided brake hoses, the premium always came out at about £120 no matter what car or driver.

They'd fixed the glitch before I tried it though. :(
