Technical Braided Brake Lines

Hi All,

I was thinking about changing the discs and pads (to "Greenstuff") on my GP, while doing so I was thinking about putting fresh brake fluid into the system, because of this i was thinking of having braided lines, Earl's Performance Products make them and they look high quality and my brother has been using them on his car for about 2 years and still look brand new.

I was just wondering if anyone knew what type of fitting the GP uses for brake lines seems as when I looked it was a straight fitting, I have only ever seen a banjo type fitting before so I was wondering if anyone knows what type of fitting the GP takes.

I used hel lines 6 in total cannot remember the fitting piece of **** anyway, i would highly recommend, use turbogroove discs they lasted me 3 years and were still going when the car went

Do braided hoses provide a noticeable improvement to braking feel would you say?

you may be better off getting them made at a hydraulic hose company, they tend to use top quality stainless ends and high quality hose.

Yeah i loved the feel on the pedal compliment upgrade discs and pads well

I'll have a look into Turbogroove discs, sounds like a fun thing to say to someone when they ask about them, thanks for the pointer

I can't find the quote for a GP? Do you have to ask for them especially?

last time i got some was for a ducato, it was about 7.50 a meter and 7.50 an end.

take the pipe off the car clean it up and walk in to the place they can match threads, banjos / couplings along with their orientation and lengths very easily....


(get industrial hoses made for work when im allowed to escape the factory this way)

I'll consider this especially if it means I wont be gambling with weither it will fit or not. Thanks for the pointers guys, one last question if I was to do this do you reckon its a part that can be "threw" together in less than a day? That way I could get them all changed without having to take one off to put it back on again to take it off? Or is that something that you can't say?

pop in before you start and have a word... most can be made up whilst you wait they literally carry the hose into the back and make there and then here unless they have a big order to make up...

The ones off the shelve have already been matched up so you could save time and effort and just get them

Hel, goodridge, black diamond etc

ive already put this. £7.50 a meter for the hose and about the same for a fitting on the end. you can normally get 4 flexis out of a meter

Yeah but I have no idea how many metres/connections are required. Not looked at which hoses would be replaced with braided.

if you have 4 flexies it be about 70 quid, if you only has 3 it be about 55
