Bootmgr is missing?

Hi guys,

Got this issue after the latest Windows update. "Bootmgr is missing press any key to continue" PC boots normal after any key is pressed.

I have an external drive connected, if I disconnect it before I turn on the PC, I don't get the error.
The PC is set to boot from the DVD drive first, and shouldn't be booting from the external at all.

Any ideas how to fix without disconnecting/reconnecting each time?
I am running Windows 7 if that helps.

try setting the first boot device as your had drive.
if you needed to boot off a dvd, try f8.
or chance in bios

maybe consider putting a boot mgr on other hard drives, if for some odd reason it decides to use one of them.

had a drink n rather dumb atmo, googled it for you with failure.

Ran windows update again, plugged back in hard drive. Now its all back to normal.
Bloody bizarre glitch.
