My boot wont open with the key only with the lever inside. what do you think the problem is?

The same problem developed on my car a few months ago. Perhaps it's a common fault? Not sure if there's any easy cure. (Perhaps putting some WD40 on it would help, if you could get it into the lock)
I decided to just put up with it. (until the interior release lever stops working!)

you have to take off the plastic sover on the reverse of the boot lid and screw driver the barrel bolt release of the lock! hold it back and it should clip back into place

the way i cured this was to spray with WD40 then put the key in out in out turn in out in out turn keep doing this for as long as it takes, this does loosen the lock and you'll be able to open it so it works again!
there's a few of us on here who have had this problem and this sorted it!

hold what back. i took the plastic off then theres a screw for the lock. then do what?

im sure there is a barrel where the key goes in and a clip where the key turns? prise the bolt back and it should click so you can actually turn the key

This happened to my old car, i took a more drastic approach...
I rolled the car and got a new one with a smoothed boot!lol...

ive tried WD40 but still no joy.
I took the plastic cover off from inside the boot and when i push the metal bar accross which opens the boot the the barrel where the key goes turns as it should,
But the key doesnt turn,
well only a few mm.
If it turned about half a cm more it would open.
Do you think i need a new lock, if so how much do they cost and would i be able to use the ignition key still.

If its not an easy fix then leave it, just open it from in the car! I dont even have a handle on my boot let alone a lock!lol...
