boot open message

Hi can someone help me please.
On my dashboard it diaplays that the boot is open, i noticed that the little sensor on the boot lock was broken so i replaced the boot lock but it is still displaying the message. i cant lock the car via the central locking on the remote or activating the alarm. So i have to lock the car manually via the key blade when
I do this all doors are locked ok and they lock fine whilst in driving mode lock. i put a voltmeter into the connector and i did get a reading but forgot what it was. i persume the wireing is ok because the boot light is working fine as this runs off the boot lock.

Boot light will be on most of the time when the car is active you'll find. It's the catch in the tailgate you need to replace. What did you change

I replaced the boot lock mechanism. The light is only meant to come on when the boot is open but it stays on constantly. When i go to lock the i have to do it by the key i cannot use the remote due the car saying the boot is open when it actually closed and locking fine.
