Technical Boot issue

Hi, I have a 2011 evo sporting. The boot opens and closes fine but the door symbol appears on dash saying boot open. I have clean around the latch and around the boot space etc and oiled the boot shocks but still showing as open. When i lock the car by fob the hazards flash madly so it certainly senses a door is open. Any ideas where to investigate or how to find the issue. Regards Kevin

Or at least it looks like what you need.

The original parts are available on a Polish equivalent of ebay, so being at your place I'd check ebay and the dealership first.

The switch to activate the dash light is usually in the latch (not sure if this is true on the evo).

Does the latch close when you shut the boot?

I would start by closing the latch manually with a screwdriver or similar with the boot lid open.

And then see if jiggling wires can get the dash light to illuminate. Wires can break where they bend at the hinge.

I think it's going to be a case of tracking a broken wire or bad connection.
