So, when the car is unlocked and you press the boot badge button, nothing happens and you cannot open the hatchback door.
If you use the boot button on the key fob it opens fine.. is there something on the back of the badge that should activate it when pressed that could be broken.
It is well past its best and could do with replacing anyway, is that likely to fix it? ..
before I start stripping the door panels off in case i cqan fix the old one while waiting for the new part to arrive. LOL
TIA

There will be an electrical micro switch linked to the movement of the handle. If its not working it can be elctrical connections at the plug to the lock, wiring harnessdamage issues or the handle and switch. Check the contacts on the wiring plug and the lock socket are clean and that there is power at the plug. If these are OK remove the lock and clean it carefully. Do a search in the Punto forum on here as others have had the same problem.

Disconnect the button plug and jumper the cables. If it works, you have a broken button. If not, cabling on the back door rubber boot is probably broken.
