Boot help

Hi all

I want to smooth off the boot on my Bravo. Can anybody tell me the best way of doing this as ive heard to many different ways?

iv had mine done on my brava(at a garage) thay took off the plastic lift handel, brake light, lock grinded off any bits that stuck out.welded plates were holes were then a skim of filler
