General Boot De-locking

I've got the old abarth booked in to a bodyshop this week to tidy up some of the battle scars, amongst the jobs that need doing there is some 'bubbling' around the boot lock.
I'm considering telling them to just de-lock it and smooth it over...
I'm assuming its ok to do this with the stilo and i can still remotely open it with the fob?
(I have done a search for boot de-locking but there doesnt seem to be anyone who's done it to their stilo)

yeah you should just be able to remove the lock and smooth it over shouldnt affect the opening

As the boot lock is tucked right away, it might be prudent to get the shop to leave it, and fix a round metal plate over the lock, then if the electrics to the boot fail, you can remove the plate and open the boot?

Just a thought!

Ta for the replies decided to go ahead and have it smoothed and hope the electrics dont ever fail on me!
