I have got a mark 1 fiat punto and in my boot is my sub and amp on a plank of wood, and the 6" by 9"'s are on the parcel shelf. Fairly boring and common. I am looking to put my 6" by 9"'s in my boot along with my sub and amp, and incorporate it all so it looks 'cool'. Has anyone else done this or have any pictures of their own boot builds? Cheers

Nice, thats something i would like to have in my boot, except only the one sub and amp, lol. WHy would you advise against the 6" by 9"'s in the boot with the sub?

Well the treble and midrange is gonna be very very muffled as it needs a fair bit of 'air space' if you will for it to sound any good...assuming youre running it with the shelf still in the car!

However too much and they sound crap. (I lost all bass when I took my seats down to transport some air cylinders - as the resonant volume of air had become too large to have an effect!)

Put the 6*9's in the shelf!

6x9s are bad :nono:

The 6x9s and the sub will essentially cancel each other out - 2 different ways to get the same thing, but putting the two together doesn't work IMO.

Components up front, sub in the back, all amped is the best combo IMO (y) No rear speakers at all.

The air being moved by the sub will/may interfere with the 6 x 9's and vice versa.

Uh huh...thats why sealed sub enclosures are preferable!

But theres always the air being moved forward and outwards by the front face of the cone....

It was purely the air being moved by the front that I was referring too as I had no idea what sub he intends to run. Lose the 6 x 9's altogether.

I did my boot build almost a year ago now and have sub amp fitted and then 6x9s on parcel shelf.

you do see alot of people with componants but as i had the 6x9s anyway i wired them up and think there great. great sounding and have lasted till now with no problems in sound.

just depends where you put them really...

i also kept my front and read componants wired by HU then 4 way amp powering parcel shelf and sub.
alls well tbh.
