...catch. I have greased & oiled it, made sure everything is free, checked the cable and fiddled with the height of the rubber bump stops, but it won't stay shut.

The last thing I want is my bonnet meeting my windscreen at 50mph, so any advice is really appreciated. (y)

Trial it with screw driver while bonnet is open - there is one in windscreen washer bottle.


If screwdriver does make the latch to lock, inspect bonnet pin as they can wear on the diameter or bend.

I had this with mine - I thought it was the catch so I bought a new one, it then worked better but still came open on the bumps. I re-adjusted the cable (well, I actually fitted a new one off a Land Rover, it's on the forums somewhere) and it is fine now.
