Bo Shazam Selecta!

er...yeah...maybe if he hadn't been doing the exact same jokes for 3 series running he'd be a genius. :(

The first series was class..the second didn't have enough of Mel B in it and this series is just bereft of anything original.

He's reached that point in stardom where people cheer his catchphrases, rather than listening to it anymore...ergo, he can do what he likes and the ratings will still be high.

Bit like Big Brother.

It's absolute rubbish, modern comedy is total crap!

I'm with Pete on this, maybe we're just to old, I remember when sketch shows used to be funny, now they're just plain stupid! :D

you are too old.

Little Britain is class!

I wanna whippy!

Yep, I'm too old!

Bo Selects and Little Britain are rank! Alistair McGowan fails to make me laugh, especially the Euro 2004 Special, it was pants, Baddiel and Skinner, please don't give them any more air time, what has happened to modern comedy?

I'll tell you what, it's thirty years old, the Beeb are repeating it and I was too young to watch it first time round but an episode of Open All Hours is funnier than watching an episode of any of the above! (even if it is unfair to keep airing rubbish that we the licence payers are footing the bill for)

We need a fresh new breed of comical talent, even if it means creating silly shows like the 80s talent shows or Comedy Club type programmes that used to be screened. Now Jack Dee, he was a funny guy, but he's lost it too. Fresh material, originality, where has it gone?

The best sit-com on TV at the moment in my opinion is My Family!

I'm sure you'll contradict my above statements but go on Richie, list me the really funny comedians out there. (I mean the guys on TV not the DVDs like Peter Kayes Bolton Albert Hall, etc)

Tc.

My Family is an unbelievable pile of festering rankness!!!

I was forced to sit through an episode recently and by the end of it was slashing at my own eyes, just to prevent the memory being indelibly burned forever into my memory...Hell it;s so LAME!!! at any moment you almost expect someone's trousers to fall down, accompanied by that sliding whistle sound! GAAAGH just thinking about it is making me black out!!!

Stand up comedy doesn't get on TV these days, hence why it's all on DVD.

Funny stuff from recent times:

Big Train
Little Britain
Bo Selecta (1st 2 series)
Baddiel & Skinner (i like em)
Spaced
I'm Alan Partridge (i've got my foot on a spiiiiiiiike)
anything without Vic Reeves / Bob Mortimer

loads of other stuff that's usually BBC2 but now gets a run on BBC3 first.

Modern sitcoms on the mainstream channels (BBC1 / ITV1) are just lame, lowest common denominator stuff catering for the congealed mass that is the collective brain power of sun reading britain...

Peace out peeps.

p.s. Open All Hours was, is and always will be.....class! :)
