Just wondered if anyone has install one of these on a punto HGT and if so is it better to use the standard pipe that comes from the engine then connect the bmc on the end or use a silicon/aluminium pipe? just ask as the normal pipe has a funny box underneath so just wondered if this was anything special that the HGT requires.

A silicon pipe will prob be your best bet over anything else.
Have you already got the BMC?
If not, have you looked at a GSR kit for your HGT.
I think it is roughly around the same price as the BMC CDA and will sound better and will give a better proven performance gains.
Nothing wrong with the BMC CDA, just you can do better with your money.

nah not installed one yet, was offered one second hand so was looking over the engine and how it would fit in. saw the hgt has a fummny box underneath the pipe from the engine so was wonderin if this was require or could replace that with an silicon/alum. pipe.

Anyway are the BMC CDA easy to clean? do they open up?

cda's are easy to clean, undo 4 screws and pull the filter out.
i have a gsr ind kit with a cda carbon airbox, the box will fit where your oem airbox is.
the gsr kit will give better gains as its not so much the filter but the pipe design and placement that gives the power gains
