I posted this in the I.C.E. section but got no replys so I'll try here.

I am in the process of buying a new 500c with blue and me. What is the general concensus on the optimum size of USB stick to use for music. The car I have at the moment (with aftermarket stereo) takes quite a while to load a 32GB stick and in fact I can sometimes end a very short journey before the music starts playing. I have found that 8GB seems to be the optimum size for my current stereo but wondered if I can go bigger with the Blue & Me system.

I also have a 160GB ipod which fires up very quickly which I'm hoping will still be the case in the 500.

Well for me the practical limit is the rather basic menu system - it's just too cumbersome to navigate if you've more music than will fill a 4Gb stick.

The updated convergence units seem to load off larger sticks really well, in my 2009 1.2 it was awful waiting for a 16 or 32gb stick to load and build a library. BUT on my 2012 500c the library builds in a breeze even with 32gb sticks

Agreed it would a be a pain scrolling through a large library on the steering wheel controls, (I have the Tomtom blue & me) so can navigate the cars media library on the sat nav touch screen which is really easy.

Although I don't often use the screen I have all the Now Albums 1-84 on a stick on random play and never get bored with it. :slayer:

So yes you will be fine with a 32gb stick in a new 500c, and it you get the TomTom Blue and Me you get a great touch screen media navigator..
