blue me nav

something about people who have gone down unmarked roads being able to upload their new discoveries to the map database when they get home!(y)
That's the new Map Share feature.

Mine's a 2nd Edition ONE so I don't have it (I don't think?) but I can see how it would be a good feature.

I've done some looking around, and i like the following as alternatives to the TomTom:

That looks very good, easy to carry around, some really good features (if you read the article) and cos it doubles up as a phone (not too bad looking either, if a little bland)

Sony also have a very nice Navi system which is out,

Honestly though, i love the Garmin one and would probably buy that given the choice.

I've got a Garmin Nuvi and I hate it. It looks nice, but functionally it's pretty poor. The Sony one looks good, but it's expensive. Plus if you have Blue&Me you don't need the Bluetooth functionality.
I've heard Garmin have complicated menus which are not very slick, but i'm hopeful for this, because it has so much promise as a great device in my opinion. Let's wait and see...

It wasn't just the menus, it was the navigation part which was the worst. It's often very vague and also too slow at telling you where to go.

You'll be approaching a roundabout, say with 2 or 3 lanes of traffic, and it's not until you're right at the junction that it tells you which exit you want. By that time you're in the wrong lane. It's very annoying.

:bang: Ah that sucks, but i'm still hopeful, it just seems like it'd be a waste for that to be the case on such a device, so hopefully it'll work... :)

dealer told us 2 weeks ago when we ordered ours nav is not available in the u,k as the cost for the option would be too much at around £1000

Have you guys seen this? Looks quite a good deal to me. I just wonder if you guys with 500 have that mount hole on the dashboard where the NAV should go?
