Hi everyone,
My Blue and me stopped working right on 77,777 kms. Started flashing the kilometers on the dash. About 3 months later, I was away for a few days. The car would not start. Called NRMA several times.
I was told the car is still drivable although Blue and me does not work. My husband and I did some google searches and found that the Blue and me flashing does drain the battery - hence car will not start.
Is there anyone in the Sydney area that can fix the Blue and me? Looking for recommendations.
Thanks RV.

You can just unplug the unit.. That stops the drain 🙂

A plug in reset will stop the display flashing 😉

I know he's in the UK, but this guy will repair your Blue & Me module for a reasonable price - He has a youtube channel and his contact email address is shown there:

@typecastboy 😉

I had one arrive from Australia this week to repair, just the circuit board to save on weight. Unfortunately the sender in Australia put it as a gift and a value of £100 and the Royal Mail want £18 in important charges, most of which will no doubt be admin fees. I send them to Europe quite regularly and mark as a commercial sample so there are no charges. If you want to do the same, I'm happy to repair it for you. If you email me at [email protected] I will send you the repair form.

Incidentally, the flashing mileage doesn't cause the battery drain. If you're battery isn't draining then the flashing mileage won't make it start.

Flashing mileage is a Proxy Alignment error (Proxy Alignment is where the 'car body system' [as opposed to the ECU] on startup gives a shout to all of the connected modules and sees if they're all OK, these include Airbags, radio, bluetooth {common offender}, steering wheel etc... basically anything in the car with a chip in it [and quite a lot that you don't realise have chips in them]). When somethng fails to respond or doesn't send the right response it creates an error condition which it signals by flashing the mileage display.

Running a 'Proxy Alignment' from MES (or similar) can often cure this, if it doesn't then it should tell you the faulting module so you can deal with it. (remember I mentionned the Blue & Me as a common offender, trouble is they're a pain in the a**e to find most of the time and even worse to remove and get repaired, then re-install). When the one in my Doblo failed I suffered multiple flat batteries and random errors and weird effects until I finally located and disconnected it [it's under the passenger seat, under the carpet on the Doblo if you're interested, if it had been easy to remove I'd have ripped it out and destroyed it - they're made by Microsoft and run on Windows CE {shudder}, don't arsk about the 500, that's just another level of hell - at least it's documented now...]). Once disconnected and another Proxy Alignment run, the Doblo started to behave as she should, with only minor glitches occasionally (ie when she thought the oil was getting low...)
