its all totaly the best way, seems the ones that have dealer history are the ones that blow gaskets

well i top up the reservoir open the rad screw till it comes out then shut

then open rear bleeder get someone to blow on bottle or use a pressure tester to the same affect

then shut when i come out

as the rear bleeder is higher than the bottle it will always allow air in unless you pressure it out then close it don't matter what kind of pipe squeezing you do you run the risk of having air in the block

after this obviously you should run the engine till warm allow to cool and top up the last bit

when i do it my way i never have to top it up afterwards

why thats expansion space

actually i fill mine right to the plastic join between the 2halfs of the tank itgives a better idea of water level

not that i need it i have never topped mine up in 1 year just about time to change it actually

o right see what you mean i do actully if you let it drop you have to bleed the rad again

i bleed the rad first then open the rear bleeder and pressure till it drops to max

i suppose it don't really matter witch way round you do it


i just figure if the rads bleed first you don't push any more air into the engine

had the camera out before so took a few pictures to help people

max is actually the join between the 2 halves of the bottle

i need to bleed my coolant as i may have air in it. just cant figure out how the silver fastener comes off the botom hose.

it's a 1999 v reg so im assuming its a mk2

help!!!

mash it off with screw driver, after you have been to shop and bought a screw type clip to replace it

Should the engine be running from the start of this process?? ie turn on engine, fill with water and then bleed??
