To be honest it would help if we knew what car you have inc year and model + which hose you are talking about always give as much in formation as possible when asking a question , it gets faster and more accurate responses!.
Has it snapped off?
I think, not sure, a plastic number plate screw fits( it will need the rubber O ring on it from the original)

wasn't there a thread on here about using a m10 bolt? at some point.
It's about 6mm at most?
Whatever!- just seem to remember reading a thread saying someone used a bolt instead of the screw!

Can you post the link? Everybody and their dog wants one of those..
I have fixed the problem using an M6 screw (10mm hex/spanner) and an O-ring... M6 screw and some silcone sealant, and also a number plate screw and an o-ring..but an actual correct part is a better fix.

Personally I think a brass setscrew and O ring is a better solution; far less likely to break if you want to undo it.
Time and temperature are not kind to plastic screws.
