Will look at this thread in more detail at the weekend when we get home. Is takin too long to display it all on my phone. Sounds interesting but will need to look at distance etc.

its too cold! went to blackpool in october once it was freezing. wind was blowing the sea on the road and everything was covered in sand and salt so i might have to miss this one.

I used to live in Aberdeen, I know how cold the north sea can be ;) Walking home in the (sideways) snow at 3am in a mini-skirt and stilettos was the norm!

Dan, I'm so sorry to hear about your car and this after all the hassle you've had with it  I hope you can get something sorted and even if you need to turn up in another car or get a lift, get yourself along, we'll see if we can introduce you to some more intersting kitchen implements :D

well, hows this for coincidence not only was i planning on going to a meet at some point soon i was also planning to go to blackpool! and if that wasnt enough for you im on holiday for a week from oct 23rd! if its decided that its the 21st then i can always have an extra few days off.(y)

Right want to get this tidied up so i make a proper thread and stick it in the calander.

So plan?

Well we are definate its Saturday 21st October.

So we need a place and a time to meet up that everyone can get to.

We need ideas what to do during the day.

I think we should have a meal then hit the illumations when it gets dark so maybe have a pub tea - will have to look into where. We went to wetherspoons last time :)

Also Helz suggested we have a bit of a drive too :)

Those who need accommodation and need help trying to find somewhere give us a shout or if you have found somewhere post details up for others please :)

There is a pay and display car park at star gate we can meet up at, its a bit of a trek into blackpool, or a tram ride, but its cheap parking and I have never been stuck for space on it, and its also right before the illuminations start on the pleasure beach side

I was thinking either the car park as you come in off the motorway (and then main road in) at Lidl (or Aldi or whatever it is) where they're doing all that work on the road and bridge. Or Morrisons/ McDonalds. OK both a bit further back but easy to find and find each other on. Just ideas though! As for food, I don't know, I usually just walk along until i find somewhere so any suggestions are good

If only it was 6 days later then the 21st,havent got my driving test till Oct 25th and would love to convoy fru the lights as the only time i have seen blackpool illuminations was when io was about 9, had too much candy floss, coke and too much fun at the pleasure beach wore me out and fell asleep after about 5mins so missed them :( think of me when your driving thru :):bang:

dont worry - if its a sucess then will be doing it next year :)

Helz - problem with walking till we find somewhere might be difficult as the food there is usually chippy, maccy Ds and stuff. I havent seen a pub on the front that does food?

Arc maybe you could help with ideas on this?
