Probably the signal to say the engine is running, so the gearbox ECU will let you change to drive?

I'm thinking more to send a signal to the Gearbox ECU to stop the warning buzzer for Park not selected when ignitions off.

would make sense. or to tell the hydralic pumps to turn on for the gearbox.

Hydraulic pump is always running when engine is

I've seen that video and I thought....that can't be ECVT:0... :)

However it could be interested to try:)

Would kill an old CVT box unfortunatly, only just managed to be able to make them to go with bigger engines, thats always been their downfall in the past, will only work well with a small engine.

Now fitting them to 2.0l DERV's and the Toyota Prius' all have them :)

Whatever that signal does (which can't be that hard to find out with the right manual!), it doesn't really matter. It won't be a complex signal, just a 12v trigger, so easily sorted if needs be.

The best would be to check what that signal is when car is still running (before engine swap)....then will be easy to emulate it...or even find it in new ECU...
