Does anyone out there have this problem.

I wear size 13 shoes and the problem is that when braking I sometimes catch the throttle pedal.:bang:

yes, I wear deck shoes or similar slim fit loafers when driving. it might be worth practicing when parked to teach yourself some muscle memory as the pedals are offset from most normally positioned pedals in cars.

I had the same problem when we got the Panda I wouldn't mind but
it as much more room down there than the Clio we had, any way the
problem as gone away so must have got used to it.

It is also a problem of changing from my Pajero to the Panda.

I have an automatic Panda so when the throttle is pressed off it goes - brakes or no brakes.

In an emergency panic takes over from muscle memory.

I think the real problem is that the brake pedal needs to be higher so that when depressed you don't get down to the level of the throttle and so can't press it.

I did notice the odd issue with my 12 sized feet, but no more. 169 slightly worse than the 312

The should tax feet bigger than 12! When it happens, don't say you didn't hear it here first. You' will have to look to your feminine side and get some driving shoes.....

Is yours a manual??

yep all manual RHD all feel the same

2005
2006
2010

all Good

I jump into a lot of cars there very little between them

I did have a Seat Ibiza. that was a bit different. There was a bigger gap between the throttle to brake. Unit I got use to it I use to occasionally find I only had my foot half on the brake.

brain soon readjusts.

In a manual I expect when you you are braking in a hurry, emergency or otherwise you likely declutch. In an auto the drive runs while the throttle is on. It is a subtle difference.

I accidentally thrashed the engine a number of times braking to a halt, due to catching both pedals at once, much to the consternation of pedestrians on zebra crossings who think I'm being aggressive towards them!?

I am at a loss as to why the different experiences.

it might be helpful if we were all on the same page

are we talking different setups,

maybe we need to add if its auto, LHD, standard pedal rubbers, pedal extensions, etc.

I gave never hit the throttle while braking. I have never seen wider shoes for sale in a shop.

my foot does sometimes touch the steering column

GF hasn't either same setup UK size 6

manual car, RHD, standard pedal rubbers, no extensions, UK size 12 wide.
