A nitrous oxide kit is technically street legal, but I dont know where you'd get insurance from. If you did, it will cost a small fortune too. Also, your engine would last about 15 minutes.
Bear in mind that the increased insurance premiums will also be quite high - is it worth all the expense and sacrificing the ongevity of your engine for those extra few bhp's?
I don't think so, but if you want to, have a go.
My 1.6 16v was quite lively once above 4000rpm. Incidentally, I was rather disappointed with my 155 HGT's performance, especially in the low/mid rev range.
