hello everryone ive starrted to prime up my car for a respray id like to know 2 things. iv delocked the boot and debadged all the boot and the front badge. now the 2 things id like to no is 1. whats the best and cheapest way to cover the boot lock (it leaves a hole) and 2. what is the best way to cover up the front holes??

no need to put a plate over where the badge was knock the recesses in a tad more with pointed end of a pick and finishing hammer like so

yeah that one does need to be plated, bonnet dont though, dont neccessarily have to weld the plates on the back though easyer and quicker though. can panel bond them on if you dont have access to a welder, just takes a while to dry.

dont just fill it coz the filler will sink slightly and you will be able to see under the paint where the hole was. get a mig welder and fill the little hole with weld then use a sanding disc on a grinder with the speed low until you have a smooth surface without any holes. if necessary use a small amount of stopper paste about an inch either side of the area you just filled. block it down and when you have done that you can paint it and it wont sink. if you just fill it YOU WILL REGRET IT !

reading more of the thread i noticed that people are saying weld a plate on the back. dont do this weld the plate flush, a good way to get this right is to put a magnet on the back of the panel so when you weld its perfectly smooth. its the best way to do it. i can delock a car without having to use any filler or stopper so i know it can be done.
