Anyone recommend the best (read cheapest!) place to get a JTD80 Airbox? (The full plastic assy).

Main dealer wants about £120, nothing on Ebay and BreakersYeard has no replies :(

Heeeeellllp? :D

Sorry, yes, I was meaning to answer that!! :) Cheers for the help.

Unfortunately the breather hose section has been broken off when going over a VERY large speed bump and so the actual plastic assembly is smashed. Don't think it could be reliably glued back together L:(

Do you have any pictures of how bad it is? My vapour trap had broken away from the filter housing as well, mine broke along the 3 rubbish plastic weld seems that join the 2 boxes, so I just had to get them reattached.

Fixing my air box and vapour tank was the second job/task where I'd ever used fibreglass, but now I love the stuff. If you use Isopon (a fine aluminium mesh) you can fold, crease and shape the mesh to replace whole sections and then fibregless over both sides of the mesh.

lol, I was the same way. I would have preferred someone else to do mine just because I had only worked with fibreglass once before and it was a small basic job. Fibreglassing isn't too difficult to use at a diy level, some practice before hand would help just to get used to the process. (y)

So nobody can recommend a good place to by an airbox? (Going to give the self-fix a miss..... cheers though! ;))

Yeah, I have had it on BreakersYard for ages and got nothing, however.....

Had a breakthrough today!!!

I had been searching for the exact part on ebay but tried a different plan this time. I searched "Fiat Stilo Breaking" and it gave me loads of people who were breaking whole Stilos! Perfect. Called a half dozen of them and (hopefully) one is not winging it's way to me now for just £25 + VAT + £8 delivery! Much better than the £157 I was quoted by the dealer!!!

Fingers crossed it's the right one.... he was certain it was 1.9JTD80!

Wooo!!
