best fuel

hi all, listen i have a 1.6 Bravo and i keep reading conflicting messages about the best fuel to use, some say never use optimax, some say use shell super unleaded, some say just use ordinary unleaded from Shell, Esso, BP etc, but not cheap supermarket stuff
what really is the best

Name brand normal unleaded, not super, not optimax, not supermarket.

Same here, I found it does run better on Super but only marginally, not really worth the extra cash. I did have some weird problems from long term use of supermarket petrol (used to park opposite so it was convenient). Never used Optimax.

I used to buy Optimax, but only for my monthly pilgrimage to Liverpool. Quite efficient, but performance wise, bugger all.

I just buy good quality Unleaded from Shell and Texaco now.

well, i did try yesterday the new bp gas with 100 octanes and i see a bit of a difference at low rpm. too expensive though

On all engines except for the VFD ones, use normal branded unleaded - its pointless using the other stuff, any improvement is imaginary.

Use Esso Super on the VFD (thats the 2.0 155). AND NEVER optimax
