I've been having an issue with one of my brake lights recently and figured out that a component on the motherboard of the bcu has burnt out. Can anybody tell me if there's a way to fix these or will I need to buy a full replacement and have it re-coded?

Thanks.

When my BCM lost the ability to activate high beam I ended up replacing it with a second-hand BCM.

The chips on the BCM contain the immobilisor codes so it's sadly not a straight swap. A guy I knew was able to remove the chips from mine and fit them to the new BCM and it's been fine since.

I guess any place that can repair ECU's could do the same, if they can't actually repair your BCM... it's the same kind of stuff really.
